About the Meeting

The annual BGSO Research Symposium creates a platform for sharing ideas, projects, and perspectives across a wide range of academic interests. Participation is open to the entire campus, inviting contributors from technical fields, creative disciplines, and everything in between. Attendees can engage through visual displays, spoken talks, interactive sessions, and facilitated conversations focused on both scholarly work and professional growth. Evaluators with advanced research experience will provide feedback, with recognition awarded for standout contributions and giveaways available throughout the event. Above all, the symposium is designed to elevate curiosity, encourage exploration, and give participants ownership over how their work is shared.

In its sixth year, the 2026 theme, Lift Every Voice: Living Legacies of Scholarship, reflects a commitment to cultivating a space where students from all backgrounds and academic areas can come together to share the work that drives discovery and innovation at the University of Florida. This symposium highlights the breadth of student scholarship that shapes UF as a top-tier public institution—spanning research, creative inquiry, and applied projects across disciplines. By centering student voices and ideas, the event celebrates not only academic excellence, but the collective impact of emerging scholars contributing to the university’s intellectual legacy.
